The Associate in Science (A.S.) Degree in Food Studies at Hostos Community College consists of 60 credits, which include the following courses: Common Core courses required by the City University of New York; Food Studies core courses; a career practices course; and a required internship. During the first year; students select a track in one of four areas: food policy; food and social issues; health and nutrition; or environment and sustainability. These tracks prepare graduates to transfer into four-year bachelor’s programs in food studies and related fields such as political sciences, urban studies, nutrition, and environmental studies.
