Director of Governmental and External Affairs

As Director of Governmental and External Affairs at Hostos Community College, Dr. Radezky is responsible for developing and maintaining effective relations with external constituents through partnerships with elected officials, government agencies, local businesses and community organizations.  His duties include developing and implementing a policy for strategic government relations, developing a program of advocacy for Hostos with local, state and federal officials, and working with CUNY’s Central Administration to advance a University-wide agenda on behalf of our students.

Prior to his appointment at Hostos, Dr. Radezky worked for New York State Assembly Member Joseph Lentol from 2006 to 2020.  From 2013 to 2020, he served as Lentol’s District Office Director, overseeing all aspects of the office including staff development, project oversight and office management.  Radezky’s core skills include community outreach and organizing, legislative coordination across all levels of government, long-term project development and oversight, and constituent advocacy.  Assembly Member Lentol served as the State Assembly’s Chair of the Committee on Codes, the committee that oversees all aspects of criminal justice legislation in the state, from 1993 to 2020.  As such, Radezky also has a background in many facets of New York State criminal justice policy and reform.

Radezky also holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Rutgers University, an M.A. in Urban Planning and Public Policy from Brooklyn College and a B.S. in Communications from Boston University.  He has also worked at other CUNYs including Kingsborough Community College as part of their eSIMS Help Center in 2005 and 2006, and at LaGuardia Community College where he has taught classes on the Practical Politics of New York City and US Power and Politics as an adjunct professor since 2018.
